Grant Turnbull
Chair
Grant is a Chartered Surveyor who has worked in the surveying and Scottish rural property sectors for 20 years. He now runs his own rural Chartered Surveying business specialising in farm and country property valuations, sales and compensation claims against utilities and other authorities.

Along with his wife, Grant also owns a tourism business and manages a livery business, both of which are located in Stirlingshire.

Grant’s equestrian interest stems from his parents introduction to ponies at a very young age whilst growing up in the Scottish Borders. Pony Club and Riding Club played an important part in Grant’s equestrian education. His Pony Club ‘claim to fame’ is being the first ever person in the UK to achieve his PC ‘H’ test with honours.

Prior to going to university, Grant trained with Christopher and Jane Bartle at The Yorkshire Riding Centre where he gained his BHSAI. He remains heavily involved with British Riding Clubs and, through his own children’s participation, in Pony Club.

Grant has competed to British Eventing Intermediate level and has educated many young horses through British Riding Clubs and British Showjumping. He is also a UKCC Level 2 coach.

A previous horsescotland Board Director, Grant has recently taken on the role of chair and is keen to increase interaction between Member Bodies and to work with them to support their development in order to help raise the profile of Scottish equestrianism.
