Norman Smith

Legal Director

A lawyer with 40 years of experience in private practice, including being a partner in one of Scotland’s largest firms Maclay Murray & Spens, Norman stopped practicing full time law around 8 years ago following a spell of consultancy with Pinsent Masons, a large worldwide firm

Since leaving full time law Norman does a mixture of non-executive directorships and consultancy work. Working around three days a week, this allows him to be involved with other projects

Norman has had a livery yard near Lochwinnoch for around 20 years and for many years had a small team of show jumping horses. The livery yard is a small bespoke business set in about 50 acres. It caters for 10 full liveries including three of his own horses. He lives on the yard and, although he has a small team to do the day to day work, he is involved in all aspects and prides himself on offering a quality level of service with a high staff to horse ratio

In the last couple of years Norman has become more involved with eventing. He has a young horse competing at novice level.
