Anneliese Aitken is a Showjumping Rider on the #horsescotland Performance Programme.

My family have been involved in the racing industry for many years, breeding and racing thoroughbreds. I’ve been around horses my whole life and loved them for as long as I can remember.

I joined Eglington pony club when I was 5 and soon realised showjumping was the discipline I wanted to further. I became a member of British Showjumping 2 years later when I was 7. I was part of the Scottish teams throughout my pony years. I competed on my first nations cup representing Great Britain in Opglabbeek Belgium at the at the age of 13.

Eagele Z

Eagle and I have been a  team for 2 years, he had never competed before he came to me.  He's a challenge to say the least as he only likes to go his own way. He's full of character and a real cheeky chap.  Erik and I are going to have our hands full with this one doing flat work!  He has a very extravagant jump but he's lacking in dressage skills.  He's qualified for the National 1.30 championships at Stonleigh as well as the Foxhunter 2nd rounds that are held at various venues  around the uk.

Frau Antje (Annie)

I feel very fortunate to have Annie join my team of horses recently.  She's a 10yr old mare that qualified for the World Equestrian Games with her previous rider in 2018 and they competed successfully up to 1.55m level.  I'm beyond excited to have taken over the reins of such a talented mare.  We spent the first few weeks together jumping up to 1.20m to allow some time for us to get to know each other.  I was pretty nervous to be sitting on such a powerful horse and my ambition with her over the next 2 years is to be competing at 1.40m and to be selected to compete for Great Britain on the Junior Teams.

India X

Indi is a 6yr old and very untypical of a chestnut mare.  She's very sweet natured and always eager to please.  I've had her since she was a 3yr old and produced her up to Foxhunter 1.20m level. She has her Newcomer double clears that give us the chance to compete in the Newcomer 2nd Rounds which are qualifiers for Horse of the year show.

Iggy XX

Iggy is another 6yr old that I've also had since she was a 3yr old. She is at the same level as Indi and has also qualified for the Newcomer 2nd Rounds. She's a big scopey mare that has a bit of a stubborn,  cheeky streak in the stable!
