From a young age Claire Nixon from Belford, North Northumberland UK, has loved horses,
the outdoors and sport. She would always focus on her ponies and competitions – she was an
active member of her local Pony Club on the Dressage, Show Jumping and Evening Teams. On her return from Oatridge College (now Scottish National Equestrian Centre) at the age of 19 (2005), Claire founded the Swinhoe Farm Rising Centre
with the support of her parents. Swinhoe Farm Riding Centre is now a flourishing professionally run small family business, spanning a stunning 1750 acre farm. Claire has established the only BHS Approved Riding Centre in North Northumberland, Livery, Clubmarked and Pony Club Star Centre – with lessons all taught by qualified instructors.
Through her coaching and mentoring expertise, this year (2020), Claire has also launched Rural Education at the center - BHS Changing Lives Through Horses Centre - to help give
young people the tools they need to help them get back into education.
Claire is on a mission to help educate, inspire, empower next generation of coaches and
riders.
