Anneliese Aitken December Blog✨

Hi everyone, hope you’re all well. The start of December was exciting! We were in Belgium with Annie and Eagle. The indoor at Sentower is an amazing arena to be competing in. The Christmas decorations were up and it was very festive. Looking back, I recognise that I went into the first week with unrealistic expectations. The horses hadn’t left our arena at home in months and neither had I. We were a little bit ring rusty and because of that I had a pole down in a few classes. It could of gone a lot worse but I was slightly disappointed. The following week everything fell into place. The horses and I were working well as team again and the clear rounds followed. It was nearing the end of our trip and I only had one more class to jump on Eagle. I decided to have a little shot at going fast in the jump off and he finished the show off with a bang. He went double clear and WON his first international class! It was my first international win as well and I couldn’t of been more proud of him. It was a brilliant way to end 2020. We arrived home with a huge smile on our faces and we were back just in time for Christmas. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and I wish you all the best for the new year!
